How Light Rewires Amino Acids into Serotonin Receptor Ligands
This work shows that light-driven radical rearrangements can convert amino acids into structurally constrained tryptamine derivatives with direct relevance to serotonin receptor biology. By enabling selective C4 indole functionalization and rapid scaffold construction, the study highlights photochemistry as a powerful tool for generating medicinally relevant molecular complexity.
